    Not sure if I posted this on right forum....

    I'm at 485/EAD stage. not on H1b anymore. I recently badly sprained and fractured my ankle/foot. Am considering taking a leave for maybe two weeks from work.

    Question: does going on short term disability and getting benefits from the state have any adverse effect on the immigration process?

    Please let me know. Thanks.

    Hello and welcome. I have a D70 as well and also shoot a lot of concert type events, here's a link to that section of my gallery: http://www.dphoto.us/forumphotos/showgallery.php/cat/742

    Maybe the EXIF data will be helpful though it's not completely accurate, even though I shoot in manual it will read shutter priority. ISO usually 1600 as Josh stated above.

    Hi ,
    One of my friends applied for his GC thru a consulting company which he does not work for...He used to work for the company but left that company before he decided to file with them...Since he has good relations with the company, they decided to file for him.
    The company recently filed his I140 but they got a RFE on I140. INS wants to know why does the company want to hire him and why he left the company in the first place..does anyone in the forum has a similar experience to share...The RFE is actually for the conmpany but the owner wants my friend to write a letter and mail it to the lawyer. Any help is appreciated.

    Guys,

    I would appreciate if you could help on this.

    I last entered in US using AP and currently working on EAD . My H1 is going to expire in April 2010. I am thinking of renewing it to provide a backup in case anything happens to my 485. I have to go to India in July 2010 and I would like to come back using AP. Pleass let me know which of the following option is best for me.

    1. Renew my H1 now and go to India n July and come back using AP.I understand that in this case, if I have to use H1, I would have to go to India and get it stamped.

    2. Come back from India in July and renew my H1 after I come back. Is this possible to renew the H1 after it expires and do they give you a I94 in this case?


    Please let me know what you think. I need to decide ASAP.

    Right - You will have to wait to apply for 485. You can do so only once your Priority DAte is current on the VISA Bulletin.

    You can file for i-140 though.......I guess you have a long wait to file 485 and EAD/AP

    My EAD card was returned as undeliverable as Mail Box didn't have my name on it.

    I changed my address and requested the Card to be resent. CSR said it would take 3-5 business days.

    I spoke with a IIO today and she said it would take 4- 5 months to get remailed as per their policy.

    Which one is right ,CSR/IIO?
    Is there anything that I could do to get my card earlier?

    What is the reason behind you saying 'case may be audited' for the OP. Just curious to check your side of thoughts.


    If your title falls under Job Zone 4, you can still apply for EB2. However, there is a possibility that your case will be audited.

    Hi,

    My pending I-140 (filed an year ago...June 2006) was transferred from TSC to NSC on 09/05/2007, because my I-485 was filed with NSC. What date willl NSC use as received date to process my case...the date they received from TSC or the original receipt date?

    Returning to the US after living abroad for 9 years and need to know what is the best process for my wife to re-apply for green card.
    History:
    My wife and I have been married for 20 years, own a home in the US and have one child who holds a US passport. While living in the US my wife held a Green Card. However, when we moved she surrendered the card. Now we are returning to the US and she need to get the Green Card once again. Does she need to apply as if this is the first time or is there an application or process for previous residents or Green Card holders?

    Since you first entered the US in H-1 status or since you first changed status to H-1 have you spent any time out of the US?

    Immigration-law.com posted the news saying that

    Wall Street (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB118455917060167397.html?mod=home_whats_news_us) Journal reports this morning that the USCIS is poised to announce its change of initial decision to reject all the July 2007 EB-485 new cases. The report indicates that they intend to accept and process some early July filing cases. Please stay tuned. Hmm...................................

    If you will use AP then your status is "Immigration Pending". Please contact your Attorney.

    I am currently working on H1B and have received my EAD and Advance Parole recently. I am planning to travel next month and want to use
    my Advance Parole for this purpose. When I come back (to avoid h1b stamping again in home country). Do I need to use EAD to continue
    working in US?
